Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori unveiled a new initiative for round-the-clock distribution of ration bags from the Governor House, along with the installation of solar systems for energy-efficient aid to deserving individuals. The announcement includes substantial educational support, providing laptops and IT course access to the youth.
According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori expressed his commitment to social welfare during a media briefing after the distribution event at the Governor House. The project involves distributing 9,000 solar systems in its first phase, targeting users consuming less than 300 units of electricity.
The Governor highlighted the extensive reach of the initiative, noting that over 690 people have already received ration bags, and the Governor House has seen over 30 lakh visitors since its doors were opened to the public. The Governor emphasized the importance of community and corporate participation in these efforts, especially in the lead-up to the independence celebration on August 14, which will feature a national anthem, fireworks, and a cake-cutting ceremony.
Governor Tesori also invited the local business community and organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami to participate in the initiatives, suggesting that involvement could extend to advocacy and direct action on social issues such as utilities and resources.
