KARACHI: Spokesperson to the Mayor of Karachi, Karamullah Waqasi, emphasized the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) dedication to developing Karachi with modern infrastructure and civic facilities. Under the leadership of Syed Murad Ali Shah and Barrister Murtaza Wahab, extensive development projects are underway to address the city’s issues.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has been actively visiting key projects like the BRT Red Line and Shahrah-e-Bhutto Expressway to ensure swift progress. Instructions have been given to departments to expedite construction and improve transportation facilities. Waqasi noted that the Chief Minister’s frequent site visits highlight the government’s commitment to timely project completion.
Waqasi reported significant progress on several infrastructure projects, including road widening and drainage improvements. The BRT Red Line is expected to enhance Karachi’s transportation, while the Shahrah-e-Bhutto Expressway aims to transform traffic systems. Additionally, efforts are ongoing to link Karachi Port to the expressway, promising faster transport options.
Under Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, beautification and eco-friendly initiatives are being promoted. The PPP’s focus on infrastructure aims to complete various projects before the monsoon season. Waqasi also mentioned the rapidly advancing Industrial Water Park project intended to address water shortages in industrial areas, with a significant water treatment plant set to inaugurate its first phase soon.
Rejecting criticism from Jamaat-e-Islami, Waqasi accused them of misleading the public for political gain, asserting that PPP-led projects are recognized achievements in Karachi. He affirmed the commitment of the Sindh government and KMC to continue their development efforts, promising a brighter future for the city.
