Karachi Development Authority to Enhance City with New Housing Initiatives


Karachi, The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has outlined its priority to transform into a pivotal organization for the city’s development and to enhance living conditions for its citizens. This announcement was made by the Director General of KDA, Naveed Anwar, during a meeting of the DA Board of Public Housing Project, focusing on the provision of new and affordable housing for the middle class.



According to Karachi Development Authority, the meeting delved into the details of the upcoming auction of KDA lands scheduled for next month. Director General Naveed Anwar instructed Director of Public Housing, Nasir Khan, to identify and include vacant KDA flats and shops in Sarjani Town for the auction on March 7. The directive also covered lands in KDA schemes and townships reclaimed from illegal possession, which are to be auctioned as well.



The initiative aims to raise public awareness through newspaper advertisements and social media campaigns, encouraging broad participation in the auction. Furthermore, the KDA emphasized the necessity of constructing internal roads prior to development and tasked authorities with crafting a residential project plan that identifies suitable locations across Karachi. This plan is intended to provide new and affordable residential options for the city’s middle class.



The meeting saw the presence of Senior Director of Land, Raza Qaim Khani, Director of Land, Mohammad Shahid, Director of Public Housing, Mohammad Nasir Khan, Project Director of Public Housing, Muhaibullah, Law Officer Syed Iftikhar Al Hasan, Executive Engineer of Sarjani Town, among other officers, all committed to driving forward the development and improvement of Karachi’s housing landscape.
