Karachi: The city’s police force and local community came together to mourn the loss of Constable Abdul Ghaffar, who was killed during a police encounter in Iqbal Market. The funeral prayers for Shaheed Constable Ghaffar were held at the Police Headquarters in Garden South on October 17, 2024, drawing a large gathering of law enforcement officials, family members, and residents.
According to Sindh Police, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, along with Additional IG Karachi, DIG, SSP West, and other senior officers, attended the funeral to pay their respects. Constable Ghaffar, son of Haji Khan, tragically lost his life to unknown assailants during what was described as a routine police operation.
During the service, IG Sindh extended his deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family, reaffirming the department’s commitment to support them through this challenging time. He praised Constable Ghaffar’s dedication to his duties and honored his sacrifice, stating, “I pay tribute to the services of the Shaheed Police Department Sindh. The Department is with you in every difficult time and will remain with you.”
Constable Ghaffar’s death has not only left a void within the police community but also underscored the ongoing risks law enforcement officers face in their line of duty. The Sindh Police reiterated their resolve to continue their work with diligence and courage, honoring the memory of their fallen comrade.
