IT Minister Syed Amin ul Haque inaugurates NITB Data Center 

Islamabad, February 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque has inaugurated the data center of National Information Technology Board (NITB). A ceremony in this regard was held at NITB head office on Tuesday which was attended by Secretary IT Dr. Sohail Rajput, Executive Director NITB Syed Hasnain Kazimi and officers of Ministry of IT and Telecom, and NITB. Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque said that establishing data center by NITB is an important step which is highly appreciable.

He said that this state of the art data center will be helpful for secure testing environment in NITB. Testing of the websites of government institutions’ and ministries’, mobile applications and web portals will be possible through this data center, he added. The data center having 500 terabyte storage. He said that Ministry of IT and Telecommunication is playing very important role for achieving prime minister’s digital Pakistan vision. He also appreciated the role of all the attached departments of Ministry of IT.

While appreciating the role of NITB, the Federal Minister for IT said that NITB formulated over 25 Web portals and 15 mobile applications and handed over these to government institutions. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary IT Dr. Sohail Rajput said that role of NITB regarding digital transformation is very important. Our youth has great talent, he said. Pakistan is not behind anyone in this digital era, he added. He said that Ministry of IT will extend every possible support to NITB for achieving its targets. Executive Director Syed Hasnain Kazmi also addressed the ceremony.
