ISLAMABAD: DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, along with senior officials, conducted a review of security arrangements for the upcoming 8th Muharram processions in the federal capital. The inspection focused on ensuring vigilance and adherence to security protocols for the religious events.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the DIG, accompanied by SSP Operations and senior police officers, visited the designated routes of the Muharram processions. They assessed the security measures in place at Imambargahs and other key locations. The DIG emphasized the importance of vigilance among officers and personnel, instructing them to ensure full cordoning of procession routes and adequate lighting along the paths.
He affirmed that comprehensive security measures are being implemented for all processions and gatherings during Muharram-ul-Haram. The DIG highlighted the necessity of utilizing all available resources to protect participants and reiterated the commitment of the Islamabad Police to maintain security throughout the sacred month.
Furthermore, the DIG stressed the importance of inter-sect harmony, brotherhood, and mutual respect to uphold peace and order. In alignment with the vision of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, efforts to promote religious harmony and tolerance will be prioritized to safeguard lives and property and maintain law and order in the capital during Muharram-ul-Haram.
