PARIS: Pakistan has been elected as Vice-Chair of the General Assembly of State Parties to the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This appointment reflects Pakistan’s growing influence in international cultural preservation efforts.
According to Radio Pakistan, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Headquarters in Paris issued a press release highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding and promoting intangible cultural heritage. The press release emphasized that Pakistan will play an active role in multinational efforts to inscribe and preserve cultural expressions that represent its extensive heritage.
The statement also noted that Pakistan will continue its collaboration with member states to enhance international cooperation in protecting and transmitting living heritage to future generations.
