ISLAMABAD: In an effort to combat narcotics and safeguard young people from drug abuse, the Islamabad Police have initiated a “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaign, following directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the campaign features a series of awareness sessions and lectures conducted by police officers at educational institutions. These activities are designed to inform students about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of preventive measures. The focus is on the adverse effects of narcotics on students’ health, education, and future prospects.

The campaign also calls for collaboration between parents, teachers, and the police to create a safer environment for students. Public cooperation is highlighted as a crucial component in combating drug-related activities, with citizens encouraged to report such incidents to the police. Police efforts are further supported by joint operations with the Anti-Narcotics Force to curb drug trafficking and distribution, particularly targeting educational institutions.

The Islamabad Police have emphasized strict legal action against individuals involved in the illegal trade of narcotics and liquor. Special teams have been set up to identify and arrest drug peddlers. The community is urged to utilize resources such as the Pucar-15 emergency helpline and the ICT Police mobile application to report suspicious activities, contributing to a safer and more secure Islamabad.
