ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have conducted a series of intensified search and combing operations across the federal capital, checking over 209 individuals in an effort to curb crime and target criminal elements, according to a recent press release.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were initiated under the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and were conducted under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza. The operations were closely monitored by the respective zonal SPs and involved the thorough inspection of 120 households, six shops, three hotels, 148 motorcycles, and 64 vehicles.
During these operations, four suspicious individuals and 14 motorcycles were taken to the police station for further verification. Additionally, individuals found in possession of illegal weapons were arrested, and two pistols with ammunition were recovered.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized that the objective of these operations is to tighten the noose around criminal elements and enhance security across the city. The police continue to execute indiscriminate actions against criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers, he added.
