ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have embarked on a rigorous campaign to curb illegal parking practices throughout the city, aiming to enhance traffic flow and uphold traffic regulations. This initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, with a focus on maintaining order on the roads and ensuring pedestrian safety.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, special teams have been deployed to monitor and take action against illegal parking in key areas, including shopping malls, markets, commercial centers, and major roads. The effort is part of a broader strategy to improve traffic management across the federal capital.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Kainat Azhar Khan, has instructed zonal Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to enforce traffic laws stringently and address any actions that impede traffic flow. She stressed the importance of adhering to designated parking areas, particularly in commercial zones, and reiterated that footpaths should remain unobstructed for pedestrian use.

The initiative includes providing facilities to citizens visiting commercial areas, while also urging public cooperation with traffic regulations to maintain a well-organized traffic system in Islamabad.
