Islamabad Police Arrest 23 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 23 individuals in connection with various criminal activities and recovered a cache of drugs and weapons in an ongoing crackdown. Among the seized items were 1,575 grams of ice, 1,035 grams of hashish, 1,230 grams of heroin, five pistols, and a Kalashnikov rifle with ammunition, according to the police.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests and recoveries are part of a broader effort initiated by Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to combat crime in the federal capital. The operation has led to the registration of cases against the arrested individuals, with investigations still underway.



In a related campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams apprehended three additional individuals. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, emphasizing that ensuring peace is a top priority.



Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to aid in the eradication of crime through public and police collaboration.
