Islamabad Police Implement Comprehensive Security for Muharram Processions

Islamabad: Islamabad Police ensured robust security arrangements for the 11th Muharram processions at Bari Imam and Shah Allah Ditta, while maintaining traffic flow through an effective management plan. More than 2,500 officers from Islamabad Police and other agencies were deployed for security duties.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the security measures were executed following directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. Deputy Inspector General Muhammad Jawad Tariq, alongside other officials, reviewed the security arrangements, emphasizing the commitment to maintaining law and order.

Multi-layered security included sniper commandos on rooftops, prohibition of private drones, and deployment of specialized police units. Female officers and volunteers conducted screenings of women participants. Entry routes were designated with scanners to ensure safety, and traffic was managed to avoid inconvenience for commuters.

DIG Islamabad praised the cooperation of police, rangers, district administration, peace committees, procession organizers, and citizens in maintaining exemplary law and order in the federal capital.
