Islamabad: Islamabad Police, under the direction of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has enacted a detailed security and traffic plan for the Chehlum procession, involving the deployment of more than 3,000 officers.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, all senior police officials, including DIGs, SSPs, and SPs, will oversee the security measures for the procession in the G-6 area. The security framework includes a seven-layer cordon, with measures such as three-tier security screening, walk-through gates, and metal detectors. Snipers, CTD commandos, SWAT teams, and other specialized units will be positioned along the route and at sensitive locations.

In collaboration with Rangers and other law enforcement agencies, Islamabad Police will implement a unified security strategy. Surveillance will be maintained through Safe City cameras, drones, and mobile units to ensure prompt responses to potential threats.

The Islamabad Traffic Police has also devised a plan to manage traffic, incorporating alternative routes and diversions to aid commuters. Citizens are urged to use designated parking areas, follow traffic instructions, and report any suspicious activities to police officers or the Police Emergency Helpline “Pukar-15.”

IGP Islamabad reiterated the commitment of the police force to ensure public safety and the peaceful conduct of the Chehlum procession through exhaustive resource utilization.
