Islamabad Police Arrest 78 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons

ISLAMABAD: In a series of operations aimed at curbing criminal activities, the Islamabad Police have arrested 78 individuals and seized drugs and weapons, authorities said. The police conducted targeted actions against both proclaimed offenders and new suspects as part of an ongoing campaign to maintain safety and order in the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, three individuals were taken into custody for their involvement in various criminal activities. The police recovered 835 grams of ice, a form of methamphetamine, and a pistol with ammunition from the suspects. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them, and investigations are currently underway.

In a separate campaign focusing on the apprehension of fugitives and absconders, police successfully detained 75 offenders. These efforts are part of a broader initiative directed by Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to combat crime and enhance public safety.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the police’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of residents, asserting that maintaining public peace is a primary objective. The police urged citizens to report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster collaboration between the community and law enforcement in the fight against crime.
