ISLAMABAD: A citywide search operation led by the Islamabad Police resulted in the checking of over 337 individuals, as part of a heightened effort to combat crime in the federal capital. The operation included inspections of households, hotels, shops, motorcycles, and vehicles, and led to the arrest of individuals involved in illegal activities.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the directives for these operations came from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The operations were supervised by SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza and monitored by zonal SPs. A total of 152 households, 17 hotels, 47 shops, 179 motorcycles, and 83 vehicles were thoroughly checked during the operation. Seven suspicious individuals and 24 motorcycles were taken to the police station for further verification.
Illegal weapons were seized, resulting in the arrest of suspects found in possession of pistols and ammunition. SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza emphasized that these operations aim to tighten security and curb criminal activities. He added that similar actions are ongoing across various districts to target criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers.
