Prime Minister Sharif Expresses Support for UN Multilateralism in Call with Guyanese Diplomat


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone discussion with Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, Guyana’s candidate for the United Nations Secretary General position and its Permanent Representative at the UN, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism and the United Nations’ role in global peace and security.



According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of adhering to the UN Charter’s principles and implementing its resolutions and international treaties for sustainable peace. Sharif also advocated for increased international collaboration to further the global development agenda. In response, Rodrigues-Birkett expressed gratitude for the conversation, acknowledging the Prime Minister’s contributions to regional peace and stability and lauded Pakistan’s efforts in supporting the UN’s mission.
