Islamabad Police Arrest 45 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons


Islamabad: Police in Islamabad have arrested 45 individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal activities, seizing illegal drugs and weapons in the process. The arrests were part of a broader effort to curb crime in the capital, according to a press release from Islamabad Capital Police.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, 17 individuals were apprehended with illicit items including 599 grams of ice, 236 bottles of liquor, a Kalashnikov, a rifle, and 10 pistols with ammunition. Legal cases have been initiated against those detained, and investigations are ongoing.



In a concurrent operation, police teams detained 28 more individuals identified as proclaimed offenders and absconders during a special campaign. These operations were conducted following directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aiming to maintain peace in the city.



SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and maintaining public order. He urged residents to report any suspicious activities to their local police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to aid in crime prevention efforts.
