ISLAMABAD: Over 316 individuals were scrutinized during a series of search operations conducted by the Islamabad Police, as part of an initiative to curb crime in the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, under the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the operations were intensified across various areas. These operations were overseen by SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza and monitored by respective zonal SPs. The comprehensive searches included checks on 219 households, three hotels, 51 shops, 196 motorcycles, and 66 vehicles. Additionally, one Afghan National, 31 suspicious individuals, and 26 motorcycles were taken to the police station for further verification. Authorities also arrested suspects found in possession of illegal weapons, recovering one rifle and four pistols.
SSP Operations Islamabad emphasized that these measures aim to tighten the grip on criminal elements and improve citywide security. Ongoing operations targeting criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers continue to be conducted throughout the district.
