Islamabad Police Arrests 31 Suspects, Seizes Drugs and Weapons

ISLAMABAD: Law enforcement authorities in Islamabad have detained 31 individuals and seized a variety of drugs and firearms as part of a recent operation. The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to reduce crime in the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, eight individuals were apprehended for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities. The police confiscated 2,217 grams of hashish, 279 grams of ice, 51 bottles of liquor, and three pistols with ammunition from the suspects. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and investigations are in progress.

In a related initiative targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams successfully arrested 23 additional suspects. This operation follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order in the city.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, reiterated the police department’s commitment to safeguarding residents and ensuring public safety. He emphasized that maintaining peace and protecting citizens is the primary focus of the Islamabad Police. The public is encouraged to report suspicious activities to local police stations or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to enhance cooperation between authorities and residents in combating crime.
