ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 54 individuals allegedly involved in a range of criminal activities, recovering significant quantities of drugs and weapons. The operation, aimed at curbing crime in the federal capital, also led to the apprehension of 38 proclaimed offenders and absconders.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrested individuals were found in possession of 935 grams of hashish, 800 grams of heroin, 725 grams of ice, 60 bottles of liquor, one Kalashnikov, and eight pistols with ammunition. Authorities have registered cases against them, and investigations are ongoing.

The crackdown is part of a concerted effort directed by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, focusing on maintaining peace and security in the area. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding residents’ lives and property, affirming that no disruptions to public peace will be tolerated.

Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to their local police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to enhance cooperation between the police and the public in eradicating crime.
