ISLAMABAD: Police operations across multiple districts in Islamabad have led to the arrest of 42 individuals involved in criminal activities, along with the recovery of drugs and weapons, authorities reported.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the coordinated efforts by teams from the Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Noon, Sangjani, Khanna, Lohi Bher, Nilore, Shehzad Town, and Bani Gala police stations resulted in the arrest of 28 suspects. These individuals were allegedly engaged in various criminal enterprises. During the operations, law enforcement officers confiscated significant quantities of narcotics, including 3,760 grams of hashish, 2,135 grams of ice, and 1,008 grams of heroin. Additionally, 30 bottles of liquor, 10 pistols, eight rifles, and one gun with ammunition were seized. Legal proceedings have been initiated against those detained, with investigations ongoing.
Furthermore, in a specialized campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams apprehended 14 more individuals. These operations align with the directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has prioritized the crackdown on crime to maintain peace in the capital.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, emphasizing that no disruption to public peace will be tolerated. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities promptly to local police stations or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to bolster efforts in curbing crime through community-police collaboration.
