Islamabad: In a concerted effort to curb criminal activities, the Islamabad Police have arrested 182 individuals over the past week, recovering substantial quantities of drugs and an array of weapons.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, 109 individuals have been apprehended for involvement in various crimes. The police teams confiscated 4,000 kilograms of hashish, 7,000 kilograms of ice, 2,000 kilograms of heroin, two Kalashnikovs, a rifle, five guns, three daggers, and 59 pistols along with ammunition. Cases have been registered against those arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
In addition to these arrests, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the capture of 73 criminals. The operation follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aiming to maintain peace and order in the capital.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reaffirmed the police’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, emphasizing that no elements will be allowed to disrupt public peace. The police have encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster collaboration between the public and law enforcement in eradicating crime.
