Islamabad Police Arrests 17 Suspects, Seizes Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a significant operation, the Islamabad Police have arrested 17 individuals linked to various criminal activities, recovering drugs and weapons in the process. Nine suspects were apprehended with 126 grams of ice, 859 liters of liquor, six pistols, and a Kalashnikov with ammunition, highlighting the authorities’ ongoing efforts to combat crime in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were part of a broader campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, leading to the capture of eight additional criminals. Legal proceedings have been initiated against those detained, and further investigations are underway to uncover potential links and accomplices.



Inspector General of Police Islamabad has directed the force to maintain a rigorous crackdown on criminal elements to preserve peace in the city. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reaffirmed the department’s commitment to safeguarding the community, emphasizing that public safety remains a priority. Authorities have also encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities through local police stations or the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to aid in the collective effort to reduce crime.
