ISLAMABAD: In a significant operation, the Islamabad Police have arrested eight individuals suspected of involvement in criminal activities and recovered drugs and weapons from their possession. The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to combat crime and maintain peace in the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, law enforcement teams apprehended six suspects who were allegedly involved in various criminal acts. The police recovered 225 grams of the drug known as “ice,” along with one gun and three pistols, complete with ammunition, from these individuals. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and investigations are underway to gather further evidence.

In a concurrent initiative targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams successfully arrested two additional criminals. This campaign aligns with the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of a broader crackdown on criminal activity aimed at securing the safety and tranquility of the city.

Qazi Ali Raza, the Senior Superintendent of Police Operations in Islamabad, reiterated the department’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of residents. He emphasized that maintaining public peace is a priority, and no disruptions will be tolerated. The police are urging citizens to report suspicious activities promptly, either to their local police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” to support the joint effort between law enforcement and the community in eradicating crime.
