ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have apprehended a suspect accused of harassing and robbing families at gunpoint on several roads and deserted locations, according to a recent operation by the Shalimar Police Station. The suspect, identified as Shakeel Ahmed, was detained for allegedly intimidating citizens and forcibly taking cash from them.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrest followed the deployment of both human intelligence and technical resources to locate and apprehend Ahmed. Authorities recovered a vehicle, weapons, and ammunition reportedly used in these crimes from his possession. The initial investigation revealed that Ahmed has a prior criminal record.

SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the department’s commitment to maintaining public safety and taking decisive actions against criminal elements. The Islamabad Police are actively working to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and properties, with a clear message that disturbances to public peace will not be tolerated. Citizens are encouraged to support these efforts by reporting any suspicious activities to their nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pukar-15.”
