ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 58 individuals in an ongoing crackdown aimed at curbing crime and ensuring public safety in the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation is being conducted under the directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The police have targeted criminal elements involved in drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons. In the latest raids, authorities detained 29 individuals and seized substantial quantities of narcotics, including 2173 grams of Ice, 525 grams of heroin, and 115 grams of hashish. Additionally, 25 bottles of liquor, one rifle, and 16 pistols with ammunition were recovered. The police have registered cases against the accused, and investigations are ongoing.

The campaign also includes efforts to apprehend proclaimed offenders and individuals with past criminal records. Another 29 wanted offenders were arrested during these operations. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property. Under the “No to Weapon” initiative, the police are taking comprehensive action against illegal weapon possession and aerial firing.

SSP Raza urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, fostering cooperation between the police and the public to enhance safety and security in Islamabad.
