Islamabad Police Arrest 39 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a recent crackdown, the Islamabad Police have arrested 39 individuals in connection with various criminal activities, recovering significant quantities of drugs and weapons in the process. The operation, which aimed to enhance public safety in the federal capital, saw the apprehension of 11 suspects involved in different crimes, while police confiscated 745 grams of ice, 15 liters of wine, and five pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and investigations are ongoing.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests are part of a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, resulting in the detention of an additional 28 criminals. This initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing a stringent approach towards crime prevention and maintaining public order in Islamabad.



SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza affirmed the police’s commitment to safeguarding residents’ lives and properties, stressing that any disruption to public peace will not be tolerated. He encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activity to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of community cooperation in crime reduction efforts.
