ISLAMABAD: Police in Islamabad have arrested 36 individuals in connection with various criminal activities, seizing illegal drugs and firearms in the process. The suspects face charges as part of an ongoing investigation.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, 15 suspects were apprehended for involvement in criminal activities. Officers recovered 393 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1,060 grams of opium, 207 grams of heroin, six pistols, and three rifles with ammunition. Cases have been filed against the suspects, with further inquiries underway.
Additionally, a campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders led to the arrest of 11 more suspects. These efforts are part of the Islamabad Police’s strategy, under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to address crime and ensure public safety in the federal capital.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and maintaining public order. He urged residents to report suspicious activities via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster cooperation between the police and the public in combating crime.
