ISLAMABAD: In a significant operation, the Islamabad Police have apprehended 32 individuals linked to criminal activities, recovering drugs and weapons in the process. The arrests were part of a broader initiative to curb crime in the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation led to the arrest of four individuals found with 1,250 grams of hashish and four pistols with ammunition. These arrests were accompanied by a broader campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, resulting in the detention of 28 additional suspects. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the detained individuals, and investigations are currently underway.

The crackdown aligns with directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in the city. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reaffirmed the police’s commitment to safeguarding the public, stressing that disruption of public peace will not be tolerated. The police have also urged citizens to report suspicious activities through local police stations or the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” aiming for a collaborative effort to eliminate crime.
