ISLAMABAD: In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, the Islamabad Police have arrested 23 individuals and recovered substantial quantities of drugs and weapons. These arrests were made by teams from several police stations, including the Secretariat, Tarnol, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Shams Colony, Khanna, Bhara Kahu, and Shahzad Town.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, 17 of the arrested individuals are accused of involvement in various criminal activities. During the operations, law enforcement officials seized 815 grams of hashish, 250 grams of heroin, 25 bottles of liquor, and 13 pistols with ammunition. Legal cases have been registered against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.

Additionally, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders led to the arrest of six more individuals. This initiative is part of a broader effort under the direction of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at maintaining peace and security in the federal capital.

SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the commitment of the Islamabad Police to safeguard the lives and properties of residents, stating that no elements will be allowed to disrupt public peace. The police encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the community in eradicating crime.
