ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 23 individuals in a comprehensive crackdown targeting drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession across the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was conducted under the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The initiative aims to curb crime, apprehend criminal elements, and ensure citizens’ safety.

During the operations, police teams arrested 13 individuals involved in drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons. The authorities recovered 1,547 grams of Ice, 115 grams of hashish, one rifle, one gun, and five pistols of different calibers, along with ammunition. Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals, and investigations are underway.

In a parallel effort, as part of a campaign to arrest proclaimed offenders and court absconders, police apprehended 10 wanted individuals with previous criminal records.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the police’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property. He highlighted the “No to Weapon” campaign, which targets the illegal possession and display of weapons and aerial firing. Raza also mentioned ongoing efforts to apprehend proclaimed offenders and ensure prompt justice access.

He encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities to their nearest police station or via the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, fostering collaboration between the police and the public to enhance safety in the capital.
