Islamabad: Islamabad Police have arrested 23 individuals as part of a recent crackdown on crime, recovering significant quantities of drugs and illegal weapons, the police announced in a press release. The operation was conducted under the directive of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, 21 individuals were apprehended for involvement in drug trafficking and the illegal possession of weapons. Police seized 3,222 grams of Ice, 1,120 grams of heroin, 5,660 grams of hashish, 127 bottles of liquor wine, one rifle, and seven pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against those arrested, and investigations are ongoing.

In a parallel effort, the police arrested two individuals wanted for previous offenses during a campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and court absconders. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza affirmed the police’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property and emphasized the “No to Weapon” campaign’s role in curbing illegal weapon possession and use.

The SSP also highlighted the importance of public cooperation, urging residents to report suspicious activities to local police stations or through the Pucar-15 emergency helpline to foster a safer environment in the capital.
