Islamabad Police Arrest 22 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: In an extensive crackdown on criminal activities, the Islamabad Police have arrested 22 suspects and seized a substantial quantity of narcotics and firearms, authorities said. This operation involved multiple police stations, including Kohsar, Margalla, Tarnol, Sabzi Mandi, Lohi Bher, and Phulgran. The police confiscated 1,192 grams of hashish, 1,858 grams of heroin, 110 grams of ice, 27 bottles of liquor, two pistols, and one rifle with ammunition from the suspects.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were part of a concerted effort to apprehend individuals involved in various criminal activities, including a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders. The police registered cases against the accused, and investigations are ongoing.

The operation aligns with directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at maintaining peace and security in the federal capital. SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, asserting that no disruption to public peace would be tolerated. The police have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of public cooperation in crime prevention efforts.
