Gender-Transformative Manual Targets Dialogue to Alter Harmful Norms in Pakistan

Islamabad: A new manual has been released to guide gender experts and community organizations in fostering dialogue aimed at transforming gender norms and promoting equity in leadership roles. The resource, titled “Manual for Applying Gender Transformative Approach for Dialogue Workshop,” is designed to facilitate workshops that encourage discussions between women and men, aiming to redefine power relations and advocate for equitable gender roles.

According to Relief Web, the manual is part of the “Advancing the Leadership of Women and Girls Towards Better Health and Climate Change Resilience” program in Pakistan. It is structured around eight participatory activities that guide participants from identifying problems to developing solutions that enhance women’s leadership. Insights from previous workshops with women climate champions and male allies have shaped the content of the manual. It includes detailed explanations of gender concepts, practical formats, activity sheets, and facilitation tips to aid effective dialogue.
