Islamabad Police Arrest 19 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: In a series of operations across the city, the Islamabad Police have apprehended 19 individuals suspected of criminal activities, recovering a significant cache of drugs and weapons in the process. The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to combat crime in the nation’s capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, teams from the Kohsar, Ramna, Golra, Industrial Area, Shams Colony, Khanna, Koral, Humak, Nilore, and Bhara Kahu police stations detained 12 suspects linked to various criminal activities. The operations led to the seizure of 3,210 grams of hashish, 760 grams of heroin, 100 grams of ‘ice’ (methamphetamine), and seven pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are currently underway.

The police also reported the arrest of seven additional offenders during a targeted campaign aimed at capturing proclaimed offenders and fugitives. This initiative is part of a broader strategy directed by IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to reinforce security and maintain order in the city.

SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police force’s dedication to safeguarding the community, stating that any attempts to disrupt public peace will not be tolerated. The Islamabad Police reaffirm their commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents, urging citizens to report suspicious activities through local police stations or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to facilitate crime prevention through community collaboration.
