Karachi: The spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi and Parliamentary Leader of Pakistan Peoples Party in KMC, Karamullah Waqasi, has denounced Jamaat-e-Islami’s recent political maneuvers, accusing the party of attempting to elevate its political standing through criticism of Karachi’s leadership. Waqasi labeled these tactics as mere point-scoring efforts targeting Mayor Murtaza Wahab and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Waqasi claimed that Jamaat-e-Islami has become a significant hindrance to Karachi’s development, focusing on criticism instead of practical solutions. He emphasized that under the guidance of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Karachi is witnessing progress, with the Mayor inaugurating various infrastructure projects. Waqasi further alleged that Jamaat-e-Islami’s previous tenure in Karachi lacked visible achievements and now faces an uncertain political future due to alleged corruption in its managed towns.

Waqasi urged Jamaat-e-Islami to present actionable plans instead of engaging in negative politics, asserting that the public will reject unfounded slogans. He reiterated that the Mayor and his team are committed to the city’s progress, promising that Karachi will continue to develop under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
