Islamabad Police Arrest 18 Suspected Criminals, Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: Law enforcement authorities in Islamabad have apprehended 18 individuals suspected of various criminal activities and seized significant quantities of drugs and weapons, officials announced. This operation was part of a broader initiative to curb crime in the region.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, teams from the Ramna, Sangjani, Sabzi Mandi, Humak, and Bani Gala police stations were involved in the arrests of 14 suspects connected to different criminal offenses. The police confiscated 1,095 grams of hashish, 1,015 grams of heroin, 520 grams of ice, 10 pistols, and one gun with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused, and further investigations are underway.

In a concurrent special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police units detained an additional four individuals. This effort aligns with directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized a stringent crackdown on criminal activities to maintain peace in the federal capital.

Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, reiterated the commitment of the Islamabad Police to safeguard residents’ lives and properties. He assured the public that maintaining peace and ensuring citizen safety are top priorities. The community is encouraged to report any suspicious behavior to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to support efforts in eradicating crime.
