Cheque Distribution Ceremony Held for Victims of Hattar Gas Pipeline Incident


Islamabad: A formal cheque distribution ceremony took place in Haripur for victims of the Hattar gas pipeline incident, which resulted in the loss of nine lives and injuries to 10 others. The event, held on the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, included special prayers for the deceased and financial support for the affected families.



According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister’s relief package provided Rs. 2 million to each family of the deceased and Rs. 500,000 to each injured person. Retired Captain Safdar Awan, the chief guest, emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the families and highlighted the swift response facilitated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).



The ceremony, attended by officials including Member of the National Assembly Babar Nawaz and Zanaib Khan, showcased cooperation between federal and provincial entities. Cheques were distributed to the families, with officials expressing grief over the incident and pledging ongoing support. They also stressed the importance of enhancing safety protocols to avert future incidents.
