Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian to Begin State Visit to Pakistan Today


Islamabad: Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian is set to arrive in Pakistan today for a state visit, marking his second trip to the country in his role as President of Iran. The visit, initiated at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new avenues for cooperation.



According to Radio Pakistan, President Pezeshkian will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials. The agenda includes meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and talks with Prime Minister Sharif. Additionally, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar are scheduled to meet with the Iranian President.



The discussions during the visit will cover a broad range of topics, including trade, energy, border security, and regional connectivity. Both sides are expected to review their bilateral relations comprehensively and discuss ongoing diplomatic engagements following the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. The visit is seen as an opportunity to address regional and international developments of mutual interest, reflecting the shared commitment of Pakistan and Iran to deepen their historic and cultural ties.
