Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with a US Congressional delegation in Islamabad to discuss enhancing bilateral ties in various sectors, including security and counter-terrorism. The meeting, which included Congressmen Jack Bergman, Tom Suozzi, and Jonathan Jackson, focused on mutual interests like economic cooperation, trade, and investment.

During the discussions, Minister Naqvi emphasized the global challenge of terrorism, urging international cooperation with Pakistan to address the issue. He highlighted the importance of intelligence and technology sharing in counter-terrorism efforts.

Minister Naqvi underscored Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, suggesting the visit by the US Congressmen could help spotlight Pakistan’s role in these efforts. He also praised the US delegation’s participation in the Minerals Investment Forum held in Islamabad, assuring them of the government’s commitment to facilitating and protecting investments.

In response, the US delegation acknowledged the crucial role Pakistan plays in the global fight against terrorism and recognized the capabilities of the Pakistani community residing in the United States.
