Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has declared that marches on Islamabad will be prohibited, citing a detailed judgment by the Islamabad High Court. The announcement was made during a news conference, where Naqvi was joined by Minister of State Talal Chaudhary. He emphasized that law enforcement agencies have been instructed to respond swiftly to any violations of the court’s order.

According to Radio Pakistan, Naqvi addressed the recent Kohat blast, urging the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to prioritize counter-terrorism efforts over organizing protests. He recommended that the provincial leadership focus on combating terrorism rather than engaging in long marches. Naqvi underscored the government’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and preventing unauthorized protests, drawing a distinction between political rallies and armed groups.

Naqvi reiterated the capability of law enforcement agencies to maintain order and stressed that those organizing the long march would bear responsibility for any casualties. He expressed hope that opposition members would reconsider their protest plans to avoid economic repercussions.
