Rawalpindi: Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, stated that India’s efforts to change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir since August 5, 2019, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, have been rejected by the Kashmiri population.

According to Press Information Department, Barrister Chaudhry made these remarks during a ceremony at Waqar-un-Nisa College, Rawalpindi, commemorating Youm-e-Istehsaal Kashmir. The event was attended by several political figures, including Member National Assembly Engineer Qamar-ul-Islam Raja and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Nadeem Nasir, alongside faculty members, students, and other attendees.

Chaudhry emphasized that the Pakistani nation remains steadfast in its support for the Kashmiri people, opposing what he described as the illegal and colonial ambitions of the Modi government. He condemned India’s unilateral actions on August 5, 2019, as violations of UN Security Council resolutions and international law, asserting that these actions cannot be accepted by any law-abiding society.

The Parliamentary Secretary further stressed that India cannot change the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir through force or legislation. He highlighted ongoing efforts by India to alter the region’s demographic composition and identity, stating that such attempts are destined to fail.

Chaudhry also acknowledged the resilience of the Kashmiri people in the face of alleged atrocities, sieges, and human rights violations by Indian forces. He reaffirmed the enduring struggle of the Kashmiri people for self-determination, underscoring their continued sacrifices in pursuit of this cause.
