Jammu: Indian troops have intensified their cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) in the Kathua and Reasi districts of the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region, according to reports from the Kashmir Media Service.
In Kathua district, officials confirmed that the search efforts have expanded into new territories, particularly the Ghati Juthana forest area. This development follows the controversial killing of three Kashmiri youths by Indian forces, who have been accused of staging a fake encounter and labeling the youths as militants.
Simultaneously, operations are ongoing in the forested regions of Reasi district. This area, known for the Vaishno Devi cave shrine, is under heightened security as the Navratri festival approaches, prompting increased military activity.
The continuation and expansion of these operations are indicative of the ongoing tensions and complex security dynamics in Jammu and Kashmir.
