Srinagar, the government led by Narendra Modi has escalated its campaign of confiscating properties in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, targeting individuals associated with the region’s freedom movement.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the latest actions by the Modi regime have resulted in the attachment of properties belonging to five Hurriyat activists in the Bandipora and Ganderbal districts, namely Irfan Ahmad, Lateef Khan, Mohammad Hussain Shah, and Waliullah. This move is part of a broader strategy that has seen the Indian authorities confiscate the headquarters of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Srinagar, along with numerous houses and properties of Hurriyat leaders and organizations, including those of Syed Ali Gilani Shaheed, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, and Jamaat-e-Islami.
In addition to these attachments, the occupation authorities have demolished residential houses, shops, shopping complexes, and other properties in the territory. This pattern of property destruction, illegal confiscation, and forced eviction is seen as an attempt by the Indian government to economically weaken the Kashmiri population and suppress their freedom struggle.
The report also highlights the Indian military’s role in destroying Kashmiri houses during military operations. It criticizes these actions as part of India’s systematic campaign to crush the economic foundation of the Kashmiri people and their pursuit of freedom. The press release concludes with a call for India to cease its state terrorism and fulfill its promise to allow Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
