Srinagar, in a significant move, the BJP-led Indian government has attached the residential houses of Khursheed Ahmed Butt along with his five brothers in the Awantipora area of Pulwama district, and Fayaz Ahmed Itoo in the Khudwani area of Kulgam district. This action was taken under the provisions of the controversial Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
According to Kashmir Media Service, this recent incident follows a pattern of similar actions by the BJP regime, which previously attached properties of five Hurriyat activists in the Bandipora and Ganderbal districts. The frequent attachment or confiscation of properties in the Kashmir region is seen as part of the Indian government’s strategy to suppress the ongoing movement for self-determination among the Kashmiri people.
Additionally, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been reported to attach properties of two more individuals in the Udhampur district, further intensifying the government’s crackdown in the region.
