Indian CBI conducts raids at 14 places in India, IIOJK 

New Delhi, April 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Indian Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted search operations at 14 different locations in India and the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The CBI carried out searches at various places in Jammu and Srinagar in IIOJK and in Mumbai, Noida, Delhi, Trivandrum and Darbhanga (Bihar) in India. These raids were conducted in connection with the Chenab Valley Power Project case, involving Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.

A senior CBI official said that they were looking for evidences at the premises of the accused including private companies, former Chairman, MD and Directors of the project. The CBI had registered two separate cases on the request from IIOJK authorities on the allegations of malpractices in awarding contract of J and K Employees Health Care Insurance Scheme to private company and release of Rs 60 crore in 2017-18.

The second case was lodged on the allegations that a contract worth Rs 2,200 crore of civil works of Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) was given flouting rules to a private firm in 2019. After lodging these two cases the probe agency formed several teams to investigate the allegations.
