Indian Army Soldier Takes Own Life in IIOJK

Srinagar: An Indian army soldier, Raju Karajagi, tragically ended his life using his service rifle in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This incident underscores the ongoing mental health crisis among soldiers stationed in conflict zones.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Karajagi’s actions are part of a troubling pattern of suicides among Indian forces in the region, with more than 600 cases reported since 2007. The mental strain and pressure of duties in such high-stress environments are frequently cited as significant factors contributing to these incidents. The persistent concerns regarding the psychological well-being of troops deployed in these areas continue to be a pressing issue for military authorities.
