Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry led a meeting to assess the security situation, cybercrime measures, and policing arrangements in the federal capital. The session was attended by DG NCCIA Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and senior officers of Islamabad Police, focusing on the effective response to potential threats and enhancing public services.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting evaluated security protocols across the city, emphasizing the protection of critical locations and sensitive installations. The IGP instructed officers to monitor security arrangements closely and implement all necessary steps to safeguard citizens’ lives and property. Additionally, officers were directed to take legal action against online harassment, illegal activities, and anti-state propaganda, with a call to strengthen cyber patrolling and oversee social media-related crimes continuously.

Traffic management and citizen movement facilitation within the capital were also addressed. The IGP urged coordination among relevant units to ensure effective monitoring of both security and traffic systems. In a subsequent meeting at Rescue 15 with zonal police officers, the IGP reviewed policing and law-and-order issues, receiving briefings from zonal officers on their efforts to maintain order in their jurisdictions.

Captain (Retd.) Chaudhry emphasized the importance of crime prevention, improving police services, and ensuring a rapid response to incidents. He also highlighted the need for better public engagement, urging officers to respond promptly to citizens’ complaints and enhance policing quality to prioritize safety and law enforcement in the region.
