Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted a thorough review of the security arrangements for the central Youm-e-Ali procession, with senior police officials including all DIGs in attendance.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IG inspected security measures along the procession routes and at the entry and exit points. He stated that Islamabad Police has ensured effective security arrangements for the event. Over 3,500 officers and personnel have been assigned to security duties. The procession route is under continuous surveillance through the Safe City project and a mobile control room, and parking arrangements have been organized for participants.

IG Rizvi instructed senior police officers to remain on-site to oversee security arrangements and brief personnel, emphasizing the importance of constant vigilance. The primary focus of Islamabad Police, he noted, is the safety of citizens’ lives and property.

Earlier, IG Rizvi, with senior officers, attended an Iftar at the Diplomatic Enclave, joined by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and members of diplomatic missions, community, and civil society. The event highlighted cooperation, harmony, and the role of police in community service and peacekeeping.

Later, the IG reviewed security at various worship places, advising officers to enhance security measures, monitor entry and exit points, and remain alert to any suspicious activities. He urged officers to carry out their duties with vigilance and responsibility.
