Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry conducted visits to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Headquarters and the Islamabad Model Prison to evaluate counter-terrorism initiatives and construction progress at the facilities.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IGP was briefed by SSP CTD Saud Khan on current counter-terrorism strategies, district-wide operations, and the security measures in place at sensitive locations. The briefing also covered the practical training being provided to officers and personnel. The IGP reviewed the department’s performance, instructing officers to further enhance counter-terrorism measures and training. He highlighted the importance of professional training, operational readiness, and prompt response in addressing terrorism and security threats.

During his visit, the IGP acknowledged the commitment of CTD officers by distributing certificates of appreciation for their dedication and performance. He also planted a sapling at the CTD Headquarters, emphasizing the role of trees in ensuring a safe environment for future generations and encouraging collective efforts in promoting plantation.

Subsequently, IGP Chaudhry, accompanied by SSP Model Prisons Islamabad Ali Akbar, visited the Islamabad Model Prison. He assessed ongoing construction work and inspected various sections of the prison. The IGP instructed officers to maintain quality standards throughout the construction and to expedite the remaining work. He stressed the importance of effective supervision and adherence to quality standards in construction activities.
